The Ocean 5
mission statement by Marianna
The sea connects us all.
"When we look beyond our limited horizons, sometimes questioning our points of view, by making personal contact with artists from other cultures and therefore supporting one another, wonderful opportunities for collaboration and inspiring artistic works of art are created.
It is up to us to develop the will to do all for art. What keeps us alive in our work, is to take the journey across the ocean, courageously and freely to entrust ourselves to the clouds, maybe on an airplane, while looking down upon the sea, flying to another continent. The vastness of the sea broadens our views and expands our visions to begin seeing the world in a multitude of colors and forms."
We share with our fellow human beings the struggle, continuously developing our creative work, by seeking ways to collaborate with artists from different cultural backgrounds, and to use different kinds of art forms: drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, film, dance, poetry, writing, theater and music, to engage a wide audience and age group.
We are delighted that over time, we are building bridges through our art forms during our International Art exhibitions and International Art Symposiums.
Our organizational team consists of art partners and gallery directors in Chicago: Marianna Buchwald and gallery owner Kimberly Oliva; in Hannover:Mr. Cem Koc, Katrin Hamann, Lars Schumacher and Harrie Mueller Rothgenger; in Syke: Henning Greve and Gabi Paul and Director Ralf Vogeding, Kreismuseum Syke; and in Berlin: painter and activist Anke Aust; in Oderberg: dancer and choreografer Liz Erber.

In each city, art partners are engaging artists, dancers, musicians and film makers, to join our events during our exhibitions and workshops. Invited artists are responsible for their travel, food and accomodations, but will receive support and publicity, as well as wonderful receptions by the organizational committees in each city.
The title and the content of our exhibitions and workshops this year will be created by the group of artist from the US and in Germany during Zoom conferences, Feb. 6. and Feb. 20. and April 24.2022 at 2pm ( 21 hr German time)
